Charity sale spreads kindness

Our newspaper reports that the Caihuajing Community Cultural Garden Square was bustling with activity recently as a charity sale, titled "Heartfelt Wishes, Spreading Happiness," was held. The event was organized by the Jiefang Subdistrict Family Planning Association and the Red Cross Society, with Zhejiang Guomao Tiankun Import and Export Co., Ltd. providing various high-end suitcases for sale.

At 1:20 p.m. that day, even though the event hadn't yet begun, reporters saw the area already crowded with residents eager to participate. "We heard about the charity sale a long time ago, and I wanted to go out with friends during the May Day holiday and needed a suitcase, so we arrived early to pick out the one we liked," said Ms. Sun, who lives in Jiefang Subdistrict.

Ten minutes later, the sale officially began. Reporters observed various suitcases being picked up, with one person taking three. "I brought some for a colleague. They were busy and couldn't come over, so they asked me to help pick out a few. There was a suitcase, and just as I was about to buy it, someone next to me bought it." After her Taobao shopping, the woman told reporters that she learned about the charity sale through WeChat and came to show her support by buying a suitcase. She wasn't expecting such a huge crowd, and she almost didn't find anything she liked.

"We brought over a dozen products today," said Manager Meng of Zhejiang Guomao Tiankun Import and Export Co., Ltd., explaining that there were 160 products on display. These products ranged from 299 to 599 yuan online, but were only being sold for 100 and 80 yuan at the event. "The cheaper items were mainly last-minute items, but the quality is guaranteed."

Manager Meng told reporters that the company actively participates in various charity events, but this is the first time they've collaborated with Jiefang Subdistrict to hold a charity sale. "Our company is a member of the Jiefang Street Family Planning Association. We heard in the association's group chat that the street was planning a charity event, so we actively participated, which led to this charity sale." Manager Meng said that judging by the enthusiastic participation, the company would continue to participate if the opportunity arose.

On the same day, ten volunteers from the No. 1 Experimental School of Middle School also participated in the charity sale as "little shopkeepers." "Our main role was to maintain order and help count the donations," said Yang Huirong, one of the "little shopkeepers." Although her contribution wasn't significant, participating in this kind of charity event was very rewarding, and she hopes to participate more in such activities in the future.

The event lasted until 3:00 PM. "Almost all the suitcases were sold out, and we raised over 12,000 yuan," said a representative from the Jiefang Street Red Cross Society. The proceeds will be used to support families facing family planning difficulties in the area, support small wishes, and be donated to the Nanhu District Red Cross Society.
